The Panamanian Government, through the Ministry of Public Works, is developing projects to expand the high-capacity road network between the Panama City Metropolitan area and its interconnections with the west side of the Panama Canal.

The project description is “studies, design, construction and maintenance of the Fourth Bridge on the Panama Canal Project”. This project will facilitate the permeability and circulation between populations on both sides of the Canal, improving the current conditions of the road network with respect to distance and travel times, comfort and safety for users.

The work will have a lifetime of 100 years; its design speed will be 100 kilometers per hour. Its proposed typology is a symmetrical cable-stayed bridge, with a total approximate length of expansion joints of 1100 meters, consisting of two inverted Y-shaped towers, a minimum gauge of 75 meters above the average level of low tides.

Deadline for receipt of proposals: Friday August 11th, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Reference price: The National Assembly Budget Committee approved a transfer of $ 99.8 million to the National Highway Company (ENA) for the construction of the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal.
